Tom Hartley

'05 VSB
'11 MBA

Vice President, Hartley Advisors Corp.

Favorite class at VSB and why?

The Student Managed Funds program led by Dr. Nawrocki. We managed a real $100,000 portfolio sponsored by VU, which gave me a hands-on investment management experience and led me to pursue my passion for investing with a career as an investment advisor.

Most important thing you learned?

Networking is key! The Villanova community is an invaluable resource to tap into for professional development. Building relationships and networking with fellow VU students, alumni, professors, volunteers and outside speakers is a very important element to a prosperous career in business.

Favorite Villanova memory?

Winning the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship as part of the 2001 VU Football team, led by senior running back and former Philadelphia Eagle Brian Westbrook.

What are you currently reading?

Each morning I start my day by reading The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, and Investor’s Business Daily to stay up-to-date with current events in the economies and financial markets around the world.
