Senior Manager - Business Planning & Strategy, ABC News
Favorite class at VSB and why?
Policy Formulation and Administration with Dr. Scott Newbert was the last class I took at VSB. The first half of the year was built around discussing strategic concepts and frameworks in small groups. In the second semester, we got the chance to divide into teams and consult with a small business. This class really pulled the entire VSB experience together.
Most important thing you learned?
In the classroom, I learned that you can’t be all things to all people. It’s all about identifying your unique value proposition and how that serves a need for a certain segment of the market. Out of the classroom, I learned that “success” can mean very different things to different people, and none of those definitions are wrong. Find out what it means to you and work toward that. Even if you make some wrong turns along the way, at least you’ll have a map.
Favorite Villanova memory?
While storming Lancaster Avenue when our 2009 men’s basketball team advanced to the Final Four was the biggest single highlight, my best memories and lifelong friends came from the time I spent in the Villanova Spires, Villanova Singers and New Student Orientation Program.
